MALASIMBO MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL 2018

I first heard of Malasimbo back in 2011 and since then I've been really curious about the so-called "Malasimbo Magic." Malasimbo is a music and arts festival held yearly at  Mt. Malasimbo. We've never been to Puerto Galera so we gave this trip a GO!

M A N I L A  to  B A T A N G A S  P I E R

From Buendia JAM liner terminal, we took the bus going to Batangas pier for PHP 168 each (one way). Travel time is roughly 2 hours.

From Batangas pier, we rode a boat going to White Beach for another 2 hours. Fare is PHP 550 each (roundtrip) and PHP 30 terminal fee.

Upon arrival, we paid PHP 50 for environmental fee and took the tricycle going to Casa Mia just around 1.5km away from White Beach. Some drivers usually charge 3x than the usual fare so be careful. If I'm not mistaken base fare from Casa Mia to White Beach is PHP 30 only but they charge us PHP 100 minimum and PHP 150 max.

The reason why I booked Casa Mia was that they have the option to pay upon arrival. Soon we realized it was really a great deal when we got in. Aside from the fact that breakfast is included, the vibe was pretty chill.
They have their own restaurant. We had our lunch here and ordered Chicken Adobo. They only serve Filipino and Korean cuisine in this branch but if you want to try their Pizzeria(must try!!), head over to their white beach restaurant branch.

Another thing we liked about Casa Mia is that it's just a 3 min walk to Aninuan Beach.

Way to Aninuan Beach

We knew right away that this would be the perfect spot to wait for the sunset the next day.

We went to the jeep terminal near White Beach going to Mt. Malasimbo.  Fare is PHP 200 each (rountrip).

First day pass

"Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?" I am here!!!

Once in a blue moon artsy shot by Pat

Apparently, the camera sabotage our first Malasimbo experience so all these photos were taken using our trusty iPhone 5.

6PM crowd on the first day.

Since it was bit late when we got there, we weren't able to explore some of the art pieces.

By 9PM, we left the parttyy. WE ARE THE LAME KIDS.  We left 30 mins before Hiatus Kaiyote!!!! I KNOW I KNOW. It was really good but it started to rain a bit + cold wind + No jacket for Pat!!! and that was the end of our Malasimbo night

We spent the next morning chilling at Casa Mia and Aninuan Beach.

We prefer Aninuan than White beach since it's more private and just walking distance from our place.

For lunch, we headed to White Beach for Casa Mia's authentic Italian cuisine.

We had Casa Mia Pizza and Aglio Olio. I can't even. I could eat these two combination everyday.

And we were right. Best sunset view at Aninuan Beach.
